Learning software or equipment

In my first year of university I have learnt all the software packages in previous modules and units in year one and I have used web builders to build portfolios before. In regard to hardware I am very familiar with computers and other peripheral devices therefore the know how was already in place and the skill set required had been met.

Production Phase

After gathering ideas and inspiration from a range of websites I designed my wire frames and made the basic layout of the pages based on the layout of photographers who have professional websites which they use to showcase and display their work.

Due to using the website builder i only had to use small bits of code to modify the site or add small aspects because the website builder provided a visual interface which made setting up and editing pages a straightforward and less tedious task than it would be normally ,Portfoliobox both hosted the site and acted as the website builder which eliminated the need to pay for both separately once a premium membership was purchased .

A Domain name was made and connected to the website after it was constructed and the finished site is now up and running.

The first task was signing up and selecting the page you wanted to create

After selecting the page type a rough template which could be modified needed to be selected

The images and other assets had to be imported into the different pages before they could be used

After importing in the images and and adjusting their formatting the header design was selected and then adjusted before the colour scheme was picked and adjusted to the colours that I wanted

The logo was then imported in and for the proccess of how the logo was created please refer to below

Another page was then created and text was entered and adjusted to fit my liking before importing in new images to be used

A new image was imported in and adjusted so that it fit properly and contrasted with the colour scheme perfectly before moving on to the creation of the other pages

This screenshot shows the other pages that were created

The contact me page was edited and different social links were entered so that users can then use them to contact me to provide feedback or enquiries

The live feeds page was made and linked to Instagram so that any new posts made to Instagram would automatically show up on the website

For the last steps i bought premium membership and the domain name which i wanted and connected them both by adjusting some settings within the DNS admin control panel

Social Media

The Social media account was made and because i intended to use it for my website i made regular posts and built up a following so that i can have a more professional feel to my brand

The first post was made on January of 2018 and while developing this project I improved on the content I posted by taking better pictures and editing them more to be more appealing and attractive.

Websites I took inspiration from:

These were Different websites which i viewed in order to be inspired and experience what a proffessional photographer website should look and feel like
